ACCREDITED LOCAL BUSINESSES

Have you ever been ripped off by a contractor, repairman or even a professional service provider?

If you have- you are not alone!

In New York City alone there are tons of complaints filed with the Department of Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau against unscrupulous, inexperienced or unqualified companies.
Your membership in National Homeowner Landlord Association (NHLA) gives you exclusive access to the best and most reputable vendors in their respective fields. Unlike paid referral programs, our accredited vendors are members of our Association and do business in your neighborhood. Our accreditation process is both proprietary and thorough;
here is how it works:

  • Our accredited vendors must be recommended by an NHLA member.
  • They must pass NHLA’S rigorous background check- we check for past performance through public records, online reviews, Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs.
  • We check for proper licenses and valid insurance.
  • We interview the vendors to ensure that their personal beliefs and business practices are consistent with the NHLA mission statement.
  • Accredited vendors must be good standing members of NHLA.
  • All accredited vendors must sign an arbitration agreement that calls for the NHLA Board to mediate any disputes that arise between the vendor and the Association member.
  • We also follow up regularly with the vendors and the Association members to ensure that the services provided were satisfactory.

With our Accredited Business Program, The National Homeowner-Landlord Association is providing members with group buying power as well as peace of mind.  It is one of the many ways NHLA adds value to your membership.
Please let us know if you have any vendors that we should consider for accreditation.
